雅思口语Part 1
1.What is the view like around the place where you live?
I live in the downtown area so the view is quite modern. The skyscrapers provide me with a panoramic scenery of the city skyline. So everytime I feel tired, it is relaxing to watch all those people hustling here and there —— seeing others occupied is a great way for me to chill out!
2.Have you seen an unforgettable and beautiful view or scenery?
When I visited Zhangjiajie, this place was just astounding with cliffs and forests, together creating a harmony of natural beauties. Also, there are wild animals in the area, adding a bit of livelihood to the formidable nature. I would still dream of this place nowadays.
3.Would you take photos when you see a good view?
Indeed, who would resist the temptation to record permanently the scenery that fascinates them! However, even the view is evanescent, I would still choose to admire it with my own eyes since that is how to maximize the experience.
4.What is your favourite place? Why?
I especially like shopping malls, where I can enjoy free air conditioning without having to worry about disturbing others. What’s more, the scents in the malls are all pleasant as they target to attract more customers in. It’s a great place of interest!
雅思口语Part 2
1.Describe an old person you know
You should say:
Who this person is
Where he/she lives in
What he/she has done in his/her life
And explain how you feel about this person
Well, my grandpa. He taught me how to play Chinese chess when I was little. I remember that I was only four-years-old and could barely read and had no idea what chess was. He only introduced the rules and how to move each piece and then he started to treat the matches with utter seriousness. So obviously, in most cases, I could not stand 10 rounds. When I lost the game, I cried and thought he was a demon – especially because that he was tall and with stern look and his mission was to ruin my day.
After I was 10, I could beat him every time. These chess games were not that attractive to me anymore. However, the spirit I gained from it —— the spirit of never giving up in front of adversities and ceaseless learning and practicing —— was manifested in other aspects of lives, especially in learning. I will not be overwhelmed when I failed one exam. I would rather voluntarily analyze the mistakes to seek for improvement. At one day, the thing dawned on me that how I treat the problems might be the exact consequence of the chess games. Therefore, grandpa became my hero from then on.
雅思口语Part 3
1.What do you think people like to do when they are old?
When many retirees have the time and financial freedom to decide upon what to do, travelling is a popular choice. Travel allows seniors to explore new cultures, revisit cherished memories, and enjoy a change of scenery. It can be a time for relaxation, adventure, or deepening understanding of the world. Also, Lifelong learning can keep the mind sharp and provide a sense of achievement. Many seniors take up new subjects, learn new languages, or return to education to learn about topics that interest them. This can also include attending workshops, seminars, or online courses.
2.Do you think grandparents can always have a good relationship with their grandchildren?
Indeed, company is the most important factor in children’s growing. Grandparents who invest time and attention in their grandchildren are more likely to have a strong relationship. This can include storytelling, shared activities, or showing interest in the grandchildren's lives. With their wisdom and guidance, their support can be invaluable to grandchildren, especially during challenging times. They also serve as a mediator in between parent-child conflicts, strengthening their approachability and benevolence.
3.What can grandparents and grandchildren learn from each other?
Grandparents are a link to the past and can teach grandchildren about their family's heritage, traditions, and customs, fostering a sense of identity and continuity. Especially when their life experiences and wisdom provide grandchildren with valuable lessons and insights. Meanwhile, Grandchildren can help grandparents stay updated with technology, teaching them how to use smartphones, computers, and social media, which can improve their quality of life. So, the relationship can teach both generations about the importance of love, respect, and understanding across generations.
4.Do you think children's parents enjoy living with the grandparents in the family, why?
For sure, when grandparents are part of the household, they can share the responsibilities of childcare, providing relief for parents and allowing them to balance work and family life more effectively, especially when it is a chance to learn from their experience and wisdom in parenting and life skills. Meanwhile, living together can lead to economic advantages, such as shared living expenses, which can be particularly beneficial for families with limited resources, allowing parents to invest their money into their own well-being to prevent parental depression from happening.
