主语从句即句子充当主语，或者it做形式主语：it+谓语+主语从句.
那我们如何识别主语从句呢？
当句子在充当主语的时候，常见从句关系词来开头，例如：where, when, why, where, whether, who, that...，一起来看一些例句：
一、that引导的主语从句
同学们来辨别一下下面两个句子的主语从句在哪里：
-- 首先先识别句子的that关系词，然后再来确认相对应的主语从句
👉1） That he is still alive is a wonder.
[主语从句]：that he is still alive -- 在句子中充当主语的成分
[整句翻译]：他仍然活着是一个奇迹
👉2）That he should have ignored the working class was natural.
[主语从句]：that he should have ignored the working class -- 在句子中充当主语的成分
[整句翻译]：他忽略工人阶级是很自然的
二、 whether引导的主语从句
同学们来辨别一下下面两个句子的主语从句在哪里：
-- 首先先识别句子的whether关系词，然后再来确认相对应的主语从句
👉1）Whether it will do us harm remains to be seen.
[主语从句]：whether it will do us harm
[整句翻译]：它是否对我们有害还有待观察
👉2）Whether they would support us was a problem.
[主语从句]：whether they would support us
[整句翻译]：他们是否会支持我们还是个问题
三、形式主语
形式主语出现时，句子会呈现it+谓语+主语从句的形式，而句子真正的主语会被移到句末。
同学们来分析一下下面句子中的形式主语以及主语从句在哪里：
-- 首先先识别it引导的形式主语，然后再识别关系词引导的真正的主语从句
👉1）It is appropriate that this tax be abolished.
[形式主语]：it is appropriate
[主语从句]: that this tax be abolished
[整体翻译]：废除这个税是恰当的
👉2) It is a problem whether they would support us.
[形式主语]：it is a problem
[主语从句]：whether they would support us.
[整体翻译]：他们是否会支持我们还是个问题
了解清楚了之后我们来看几个长一些的句子练习一下吧：
👉1）It is unlikely that tuna can remain profitable while supplying so much expensive food for the tuna.
思考：这个句子中的主语从句在哪里呢？是否有出现形式主语？
[形式主语]：it is unlikely
[主语从句]：that tuna can remain profitable while supplying so much expensive food for the tuna.
[整体翻译]：给吞拿鱼昂贵食物的同时还保持高利润是不太可能的
👉2）It became clear that the sequences of rocks sometimes differed from region and that no rock type was going to become a reliable time marker throughout the world.
思考：这个句子中的主语从句在哪里呢？是否有出现形式主语？
[形式主语]：it became clear
[主语从句]：that the sequences of rocks sometimes differed from region and that no rock type was going to become a reliable time marker throughout the world.
[整体翻译]：现在变得清晰的是石头的序列有时候会因为区域不同，而且在世界上还没有石头类型可以作为一个可靠的时间标记
👉3）That you are coming to London is the best news I have heard this long time.
思考：这个句子的主语从句在哪里呢？是否有出现从句引导词来辅助判断？
[主语从句]：that you are coming to London -- 在句子中充当主语成分
[整体翻译]：你要来伦敦是我这么久以来听到的最好的消息
