在上次给大家梳理完所有常见的段落结构后，今天我们就来深入聊聊很好拿捏的并列结构。
所谓并列结构（Parallel Structure），即在段落中，信息以平行的关系铺陈开来，各个分论点或者细节的重要性不相上下，它们一同为核心观点 “添砖加瓦”。这种结构在说明文与议论文里较为常见，特别是用于列举原因、描述特征、划分类型或是阐述步骤时。并列结构通常体现的是两个或多个成分间的对等关系，它们在语法和语义层面保持平行，没有明显的主次之分。
和其他结构相比，并列结构的识别较为容易，这是因为并列结构有3大典型特征：
1. 段首句通常有three reasons / two effects / several methods等提示词作为总起；
2. 逻辑标记词明确；
3. 并列句一般会采用相同的语法结构或表达方式。
一、辨别并列结构的三大技巧
1. 分析段落主旨句
主旨句若出现several, various, multiple等复数词汇，后文大概率采用并列结构：
Medieval castles served three primary purposes: military defense, administrative control, and symbolic representation of power.
2. 捕捉显性信号词
序数词 Firstly, Secondly, Finally
并列连词 And, Also（容易被忽视的两个小词）, Moreover, Furthermore, In addition, Besides
示例：
The extinction of dinosaurs resulted from multiple factors. First, volcanic eruptions caused atmospheric changes. Second,asteroid impact triggered global wildfires. Finally,ecosystem collapse disrupted food chains.
通过First/Second/Finally明确并列关系
3. 句式对称性
并列段落常通过重复句型或相似语法结构强化平行关系：
Photovoltaic cells convert sunlight into electricity; wind turbines transform kinetic energy into power; geothermal systems utilize underground heat for energy generation.
斜体部分为平行动词短语
二、小试牛刀
At least three major engines increased this agricultural production devoted to the market, the first being rising demand, both international and domestic. Abroad, especially after 1840, the living standards and buying power of many Europeans improved substantially, permitting them to buy a wider choice and quantity of goods.// Rising domestic markets within the empire were also important, thanks to increased urbanization as well as mounting personal consumption.
主旨句：至少有三个主要因素推动了面向市场的农业生产增长，第一个就是国际需求和国内需求的增长（从three major engines也可预测到接下来的段落还会阐述另外两大因素，形成了篇章的并列结构）。
分论点则对主旨进行了同义替换，将international替换为abroad，domestic则展开为rising domestic markets
Argument1: 国际需求增长的原因，即欧洲人的生活水平和购买力提高，使他们能够购买更多种类和数量的商品
Argument2: 国内需求增长的原因，即帝国内部的城市化进程加快和个人消费的增加
European governments were reducing class tensions with a series of social security reforms[Topic Sentence]. //[Argument 1]Many of these reforms-such as increased unemployment benefits and more extensive retirement pensions-simply strengthened social security measures first pioneered in Germany before the First World War.
[Argument 2]Other programs were new, such as comprehensive national health systems directed by the state. [Argument 3]Most countries also introduced family allowances-direct government grants to parents to help them raise their children. These allowances helped many low-income families make ends meet.
[Argument 4]Most European governments also gave maternity grants and built inexpensive public housing for low-income families and individuals.// [Conclusion]These and other social reforms provided a humane level of well-being. Reforms also promoted greater equality because they were paid for in part by higher taxes on the rich.
主旨句：欧洲政府通过社会保障（social security reforms）改革来缓解阶级紧张关系。
主旨句中的a series of 表明为总起句，接下来则是列举各种社会保障的形式。
各分论点则是由关键词many of, other, also等关键词来区分。
Argument1:加强现有社会保障措施（如失业救济金和退休养老金）。
Argument2:引入新的社会保障项目（如国家医疗保健系统）。
Argument3:提供家庭津贴，帮助低收入家庭维持生计。
Argument4:提供其他福利措施（如生育津贴和廉价公共住房）。
最后一句话则为总结or递进，总结了改革带来的好处，其一为直接效果（提供基本福祉），其二为间接效果（促进社会平等），总结部分也是一个简单的并列结构
Several elements conspired to make Europe the place where this long series of inventions and discoveries- -compasses and star charts, ships that could sail into the wind, and knowledge of wind patterns- came together to create a power that could sail around the world[Topic Sentence].// [Argument 1]Europe's physical position on the globe was as critical a factor in its transoceanic explorations as were its technologically advanced ships.
Compared to the Pacific, the Atlantic was a manageably sized ocean to cross on a regular basis, and the Americas (once discovered) were a much more profitable destination than the scattering of islands in the Pacific or the emptiness south of the Indian subcontinent.
[Argument 2]Perhaps even more important, the social and religious values that characterized many European cultures both impelled their transoceanic voyages and fueled the innovation that made these voyages possible.
主旨句：多种因素共同作用，使欧洲成为能够进行环球航行的发明和发现的汇聚地。
Argument1: 地理因素-大西洋的规模和美洲的吸引力。
Argument2: 文化因素-社会和宗教价值观。
同学们在练习的时候可以高亮出文章中的并列信号词，并用①②③符号快速记录并列要点，强化信号词敏感度。不同话题的并列结构也有不一样的特点，如历史类文本中多原因列举，生物类文本中多特征描述。
