[audio m4a="https://www.testdaily.cn/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Part2-an-open-person.m4a"][/audio] Describe a person who you think is very open. You should say:
Who this person is How you knew this person Why you think this person is very open And explain how you feel about this person
I think very few people today are open. Like others, I feel uncomfortable while expressing my perspectives. However, I know one person who is quite frank in expressing her thoughts. She’s my BFF, we’ve known each other since we were kids. We were classmates in primary school and middle school. I think she’s open because she can voice herself with tremendous ease. I have experienced her straightforward nature many times. She doesn’t hide her thoughts and feelings. Like the last time, we were at a café. She ordered an ice cream and she made it clear that she wanted a strawberry one. But the waiter made a mistake and gave her a vanilla flavored. She immediately complained about it and asked for a new one. She said that she just wanted her favorite flavor. She was in a bad mood and a strawberry ice cream could really make her day. I think she was actually right. She paid for it and she deserved what she wanted. If it were me, I would certainly accept it. Because I want to make others think that I am considerate. I’m also gonna feel awkward to trouble the waiter to give me a new one. So, I’ll just keep it to myself, even if it upsets me. I really admire that she can stand up for herself and I think she’s brave deep-down. She is very secure about herself and she’s not afraid to show her true self to people. I wish I could be more open like that.

2020年9~12月雅思口语真题Part 3

1. Is it difficult for Chinese to express their feelings?

It’s not difficult. Many people may think that Chinese are reluctant or not feel safe enough to express their feelings and emotions. But that’s not true. It’s kind of like a stereotype. Chinese know how to show their love to others, we are romantic, too. Couples will prepare gifts and flowers for each other. We have our own valentine’s day. We talk to friends about anything and express our deep feelings. And when it comes to principles, we sure will speak the dissatisfactions out loud and support our own ideas.

2. Who do you think talks more? Children or grown-ups?

I think children talk more. Lots of kids love to talk, especially young kids. If they’re excited about something, they might go on and on until somebody says it’s time to give it a rest. Nonstop talking isn’t just about the amount of time kids take up in a conversation. It’s also about when and where they talk, and what they say. Kids who have a hard time holding themselves back from talking may talk at an inappropriate time or place, interrupt people like teachers, offend or annoy people by saying the first thing that pops into their head.

3. What is the difference between males and females in terms of expressing their feelings?

Scientifically, it has been proven that men tend to use the left side of their brain, which is where reasoning lies, whereas women tend to use the right side of their brain, which is attributed to emotion. This is what gives women the greater ability to comprehend people and express their emotions more efficiently. Like couples, a woman can sense her emotions much more quickly than a man. If a man does not physically and verbally express the same emotion quickly, the woman might assume he doesn’t care about it at all.

4. Why do you think people these days are not as open as those in the past?

I’m not sure people are more or less open than before. We like to think that we are open-minded, but what does it actually mean to be open-minded? I think being open-minded means accepting that we cannot know everything, that our beliefs are not unshakable principles and we have new things to learn. Then we should be ready to a self-revaluation and even change our beliefs, our opinions and our conceived ideas. I don’t think many people can do that. Cause it’s hard to deny ourselves and start again.
