Part 2 English Lesson

1. Describe an impressive English lesson you had and enjoyed.

[audio mp3="https://www.testdaily.cn/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/getvoice-一.mp3"][/audio] You should say: What it was about When you had it What the teacher did And why you enjoyed the lesson I would like to talk about an impressive English lesson in which my teacher taught me a song instead of giving us dictation. When I was in primary school ten years ago, one day my English teacher told us that we would learn an English song. It was a big surprise for us because normally we just read the article aloud and tried our best to remember those phrases. During the class, she first introduced the song to us, which was called seasons in the sun, created by Western life, a well-known band from Ireland. Then she distributed the handouts to us. To be specific, the lyrics. After that, we started to listen to music. The melody was easy to follow. Therefore, we learned how to sing the song immediately. However, we had no idea about the meaning of the song. You know, this was my favorite part of the class since I was totally motivated to recognize the words and have a comprehensive understanding of the lyrics. In order to help us figure out the lyrics, she just told us the story of the song. It was really sad because it was a story about a person who got cancer and would die soon. When he was in face of his dad, he felt guilty. Equipped with the background information, I fully understood the meaning of the black sheep. You see, my teacher just used the song as a teaching tool to inspire us and allow us to gain more native expressions. Plus, everyone enjoyed the class in that the atmosphere was relaxing and we didn't have to be nervous. It seemed that we just took a break from a long period of study. Nevertheless, we acquired knowledge in that process.

Part 3 English Lesson

1. Why do people learn foreign languages?

[audio mp3="https://www.testdaily.cn/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/getvoice-二.mp3"][/audio] From my perspective, there might be several different explanations. For me and many students who would like to study abroad, the reason we learn a foreign language is that it is necessary for our application. You know, if we are not qualified, we won't be admitted to the university. Even though some of us are lucky enough to get the waiver, it is tough for us to follow the professor in lectures. However, for others, they may just wanna broaden their horizon and learn about the culture of foreign countries. I mean, language is part of the culture and it provides us with a great opportunity to appreciate the diversity of culture.

2. What makes a good foreign language teacher?

[audio mp3="https://www.testdaily.cn/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/getvoice-三.mp3"][/audio] First of all, they should have a solid understanding of the language they teach. This, I believe, is the bottom line, for, without it, the quality of their teaching remains lower. So they should, for example, have a very good grasp of grammar. Second, it is important to make learning more engaging and interactive. I mean enlightening students and encouraging them to get involved in the class and express themselves is definitely something that a great language teacher should hold.

3. Do you think grammar is important when learning foreign languages?

[audio mp3="https://www.testdaily.cn/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/getvoice四.mp3"][/audio] I do think so. I have to admit that grammar is too strict, especially in English. However, it serves as the core of any language. By learning grammar, a learner is able to quickly gain a basic understanding of the language. Accordingly, they can make correct sentences faster and write an article or express themselves in a logical way. Although grammar is not the most exciting element in the language-learning process, it plays a significant part in learning a foreign language.

4. Is it interesting to be a foreign language teacher? Why?

[audio mp3="https://www.testdaily.cn/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/getvoice-五.mp3"][/audio] I guess it is interesting. First, it will bring you a sense of confidence and achievement because you will bring something completely different to your students. I mean, a foreign language means a new writing system, new pronunciation, new grammar, and even new culture. By teaching another language, you are guiding the students into another realm and this is a rewarding experience because you will also provide them with great opportunities to discover their interests and work on their academic goals in the future.

Part 2 Friend

1. Describe a friend from your childhood.

[audio mp3="https://www.testdaily.cn/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/getvoice-六.mp3"][/audio] You should say who he/she is where you met each other what you often did together explain what made you like him/her Johnson has been my friend for more than 20 years since we were both toddlers because my parents and his parents are close friends. You know, they were colleagues when they were in their 20s. Therefore, actually, I couldn't remember the exact place where we met each other for the first time. However, I knew that we became classmates since we were in kindergarten. From then on, we shared a lot of experiences and the best memory of our friendship. During the class, we didn't interact with each other much. However, we spent most of our time together after class. For example, we often went back home together and on our way back, sometimes we just stopped by a store to enjoy some snacks like candies or some spicy food that wouldn't be allowed to have by my parents. Plus, we spent almost every weekend having some entertainment. You know, we would either lie on the bed or crash on the couch to talk about what happened last week. Sometimes we would play video games. We had to cooperate to get a better performance in the game. Say, he had to attack the monster to protect our aquarium, while I took the responsibility of collecting coins to make more money to purchase adorable fish. However, in most cases, we had to do homework separately. That's how we enjoyed our time together. I guess it was his personality that made him so important to me. You know, since we became friends for a long time, he accompanied me through ups and downs. Whenever I encountered an obstacle, I could refer to him because I knew he would be there to give me a hand. He was very considerate. For example, he could offer me some good suggestions and help me to solve problems related to study. Plus, when I was in a bad mood, he would invite me to a concert because I preferred live music.

Part 3 Friend

1. Do you still keep in touch with your friends from childhood? Why or why not?

[audio mp3="https://www.testdaily.cn/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/getvoice七.mp3"][/audio] Yes, I do keep in touch with some of my friends from childhood because, you know, just like Johnson, we have known each other for almost 20 years and we have already laid a solid foundation for our friendship. Now, even though we are in different colleges in different cities, we will make a phone call every weekend. Just as before, whenever I have any problems, even if it is related to money issues, he will offer help to me. During summer vacation or the Chinese lunar new year, we will go back to our hometown and hang out together.

2. How important is childhood friendship to children?

[audio mp3="https://www.testdaily.cn/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/getvoice-8.mp3"][/audio] Frankly speaking, childhood friendship is very important for children. This is because it is a good way for them to develop their social skills and communication skills. Just imagine. If children have no friends in their childhood, they will become too shy to say a single word to others. Later, it may further result in some mental diseases, like a social phobia. What's worse, they even don't know how to interact with others, like how to ask a question properly or how to show respect or goodwill to others. Therefore, they may engage in school bullying and feel depressed.

3. What do you think of communicating via social media?

[audio mp3="https://www.testdaily.cn/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/getvoice-9.mp3"][/audio] I think nowadays it is quite common for us to use social media to communicate with others because it is convenient. As long as we have a cellphone and get access to the Internet, we can log in to WeChat and have a conversation with our friends from any location. Plus, we can not only enter words but also send funny expressions to show our immediate feelings. For other apps, like Weibo or Tiktok, we are even allowed to share funny videos or updated news with others. Therefore, it won't take us a lot of time to describe and restate the contents.

4. Do you think online communication through social media will replace face-to-face communication?

[audio mp3="https://www.testdaily.cn/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/getvoice-10.mp3"][/audio] Although during the pandemic, we had no other choice but to communicate with friends online, with the adjustment of the policy, we are able to communicate with others face to face in most cases. Therefore, I firmly believe that online communication through social media will not replace face-to-face communication. For example, when resolving disagreements with friends, it is impolite to say sorry via the Internet. Instead, speaking face to face is a good way to show our respect and goodwill. Plus, it is obvious we can observe others' facial expressions to feel their emotion so that we can give them a hug when they are down, which will never be replaced by online communication even though we can make video calls.

注释:

1.crash on the couch:凑合在沙发上躺一下 2.accompany sb. through ups and downs:陪...经历风雨 3.school bullying:校园霸凌 4.facial expressions:面部表情 5.keep in touch with:保持联系
