雅思口语题库Part 1 Keys

1.Do you always bring a lot of keys with you?

[audio mp3="https://www.testdaily.cn/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/getvoice.mp3"][/audio] No, actually there is no need for me to bring a lot of keys when I am alone. The house that I rent has a electronic lock, so all I need is to remember the passwords. Even if I mistakenly enter the wrong number, it allows me to reset the password using my cellphone. It is really convenient. However, when I go back to my hometown and live with my parents, I have to bring a lot of keys. Since they go to work everyday, if I forget the keys, I will lock myself out.

2.Have you ever lost your keys?

[audio mp3="https://www.testdaily.cn/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/getvoice-1.mp3"][/audio] Yes, I once lost my keys when I was in primary school. At that time, I went to school on foot everyday. One day, when I went back home, I found the key was just gone. Then, I tried my best to remind me of the places that I went by. Unfortunately, it was totally useless. As a result, I knocked on the neighbor’s door and asked them for help. They gave me a hand and made a phone call to my parents. Luckily, I wasn’t blamed for the missing keys.

3.Do you often forget the keys and lock yourself out?

[audio mp3="https://www.testdaily.cn/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/getvoice-2.mp3"][/audio] Not exactly. As I’ve mentioned before, seldom do I bring keys. However, I once did lock myself out in the Spring Festival. In the morning, we decided to put up spring festival couplets as a tradition. However, the moment we went out, the door was closed accidentally. I had no keys with me. Neither did my parents. Fortunately, I found my cellphone in the pocket of my pajamas. Consequently, we asked the professionals for help. It cost us 300 RMB.

4.Do you think it’s a good idea to leave your keys with a neighbour?

[audio mp3="https://www.testdaily.cn/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/getvoice-3.mp3"][/audio] Yes, I think it is a good idea. For example, my parents often leave keys with the neighbor in case. Since they know each well and trust each other, it won’t cause any trouble. Instead, it is beneficial for both of them. For example, when my parents are out, the neighbor will help them to water flowers everyday. Plus, if the neighbor needs some ingredients while cooking, she can just go upstairs and get what she wants.

雅思口语题库Part 2

1.Describe a time when you taught a friend/relative something.

[audio mp3="https://www.testdaily.cn/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/getvoice-4.mp3"][/audio] You should say: Whom you taught What you taught How you taught him/her And explain how you felt about the experience I once taught my grandma how to make video calls on WeChat. My grandma is 80 years old, and her main tool of communication is an old flip phone. To help her stay in touch with the family more conveniently, my mother bought her a smart phone and downloaded WeChat onto it right away. Although this application has become part of our life, it is a novelty for her. So we must teach her before she could call us without any help. If you have ever taught kids, you will know it is much harder to teach beginners than higher level learners. We have to forget about what we used to take for granted. For example, I need to teach my grandma how to unlock the phone, find WeChat, and open a Chat box. But she could not remember so many steps all at once. So I decided to draw some pictures and show her the entire process step by step. I used to read news about how senior citizens are being abandoned by the rapidly developing world. But I could not relate to that until this experience. Young people could not imagine how intimidating it is for the older generation to learn something new. They have to get rid of some old habits, like hearing clicking sounds when pressing buttons. This experience really offers a new perspective on the impact of technology.

雅思口语题库Part 3

1.How do people who are busy remember things they need to do?

[audio mp3="https://www.testdaily.cn/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/getvoice-5.mp3"][/audio] There is a saying in China: even the quickest mind cannot outcompete a broken pen. It means we should not be overconfident in our memories. I agree that the best way to remember things is to write them down. For example, I am a busy person on weekdays, working from 9am to 9pm. If I don’t make a to-do list, something will definitely slip my mind. Of course, if you are a CEO of a company, you can hire someone, a secretary, to remind you. But a personal assistant is a luxury for most people.

2.Do you think people should remember family history?

[audio mp3="https://www.testdaily.cn/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/getvoice-6.mp3"][/audio] Why not? I mean, we are not isolated entities in this world. We carry the genes passed down from generation to generation in the family, and our bodies and minds are shaped by these genes, so I think it is meaningful to remember where we came from. It gives us a sense of belonging. Besides, it is a great opportunity to bond with elders in the family when we listen to their stories.

3.If someone doesn't really like whom they are going to meet they may deliberately miss their appointment. Is that true? Why?

[audio mp3="https://www.testdaily.cn/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/getvoice-7.mp3"][/audio] I think so. Our subconsciousness is more powerful than we think. I guess it’s kind of like a self-protection mechanism? If we don’t like someone, then meeting with them will be an unpleasant experience, although they might not physically harm us. So to protect ourselves from being hurt, our brains will delete the memory of the appointment. That happened to me once. I did not want to talk with a professor who did not like me, so I overslept that morning. I knew that was not appropriate, but I felt quite a relief after knowing I did not have to see her.

4.Which is more important? A work-related appointment or an appointment with a friend? Why?

[audio mp3="https://www.testdaily.cn/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/getvoice-8.mp3"][/audio] I would say a work-related appointment is more important. You want to appear professional and dependable so your business partners or colleagues are willing to cooperate with you in the future. If you mess up one opportunity, there might not be a second chance. But we do not need to be so tense in front of a friend. I mean, I can accept a rain check if my friend informs me in advance that she cannot come, so I expect my friend to do the same for me. Actually, me and my friends have even stood each other up several times. 注释: Outcompete 超越 slip my mind 忘记 a luxury 一种奢侈 isolated entities 独立的个体 a sense of belonging 归属感 subconsciousness 潜意识 rain check 再约
