Hello大家好，今天我们来讲长难句中介词短语做修饰的情况～

什么是介词短语？

先来介绍一下什么是介词短语吧：介词短语是一个介词+名词/代词/名词性质的其他词。当在做修饰成分的时候，介词短语的修饰对象可以是整句话；也可以是跟在名词或代词之后，相当于一个形容词在修饰前面的名词或代词，翻译为 “…的”。

常见的介词有：

about, across, after, against, among, around, at, before, behind, below, beside, but, by, down, during, for, from, in, of, on, over, near, round, since, to, under, up, with, inside, into, outside, throughout, upon, without, within

先来看一个简单的小例子：

Her daughter was born on a raining night.

首先我们先来识别一下这个句子里出现了一个介词，同学们先来结合上面我们给的常见介词list来识别一下。

接着我们可以识别到“on”，那么对应的介词短语就是“on a raining night”。刚才我们有提到介词短语是对前面的名词/代词或句子做修饰。那么这里“on a raining night” 是在修饰谁呢？

答案：在修饰前面“her daughter was born”，描述他的女儿出生的时间。

最后我们一起来总结一下这句话的主干+修饰

主干：Her daughter was born 他的女儿出生
修饰：on a raining night 在一个下雨的晚上
整体翻译：在一个下雨的晚上，他的女儿出生了。

我们再来看一个比较长的句子：

As scientific interpretations about Chaco changed, the focus of explanatory models changed from the attractiveness of the canyon for farmers to the position of the canyon within a regional network of dispersed agricultural communities.

首先还是一样的思路，我们先来识别下这个句子里的介词有哪些？

about, of, for, within, from, to

我们再来整理一下句子中相关的介词短语：

  • about Chaco, 修饰scientific interpretation
  • of explanatory models，修饰the focus
  • of the canyon，修饰the attractiveness
  • for farmers, 修饰the canyon
  • of the canyon，修饰the position
  • within a regional network，修饰the canyon
  • of dispersed agricultural communities， 修饰regional network

note：其中，from the attractiveness to the position是在修饰models改变的范围

接着我们来整理一下句子的主干：

As scientific interpretations changed, the focus changed from the attractiveness to the position.
随着科学解释的变化，研究重心从吸引力转变为了地理位置。

整体句子翻译：随着关于Chaco科学解释的变化，解释模型的研究重心从峡谷对兵民的吸引力变为了峡谷的区域网络和周围分散农业社区的联系。
